«The topic of this dissertation is monetary and fiscal policy in Norway during the First World War until the end of the post-war boom in 1920. The point of departure has been to establish how economic policy developed after the outbreak of war, in order to explain the impetus behind the deterioration of monetary and fiscal prudence. Hence, in the dissertation I am searching for the principles and practical considerations which guided economic policy during the crisis years.» — fra introduksjonen
