Unipub, Oslo 1999, stor 8vo, orig. omslag, 282 s., engelsk tekst, avhandling for graden dr. philos. ved Universitetet i Oslo.

«The aim of this thesis is to analyse the Kantian notion of ‘Anschauung,’ or intuition, and the role it plays in cognition. […] The word ‘intuition’ has many different meanings, some of them obviously non-philosophical, amounting to some belief or other that one cannot readily account for, be it through reason or through experience. I shall concentrate on the philosophical meanings of the word, but even these are widely different, and some distinctions are therefore called for. In particular, we should distinguish between intuition of truths and intuition of objects, or between intuition that and intuition of, as well as between intuition of concrete objects and intuition of abstract objects.»
